    The mission continues

    TU Darmstadt and ESA conclude cooperation agreement

    TU Darmstadt and the European Space Agency (ESA) will in future be cooperating even more closely. TU President Professor Hans Jürgen Prömel and ESA General Director Professor Johann-Dietrich Wörner have signed a corresponding “Memorandum of Collaboration”.

    For her research poster on the pressure effect on single drop impact on hot surfaces Christiane Schlawitschek (TTD) has been awarded the Best Poster Award of the ProcessNet division Heat and Mass Transfer.

    TU Darmstadt entwickelt intelligente Betriebskonzepte für das „Fahrzeug 5.0“

    An der TU Darmstadt setzt der Forschungsverbund „Fahrzeug 5.0“ auf Fahrzeuge, die laufend aus Betriebsdaten lernen und sich selbst optimieren. Der wissensbasierte Ansatz soll auch die Ökobilanz verbessern. Die Forschungen zeigen: Das rein batterieangetriebene Auto ist für die Umwelt nicht immer die beste Alternative. Es kommt vielmehr auf die richtige Betriebsstrategie an.

    Multiscale Boiling Project: Last preparations for the ISS

    Investigation of boiling phenomena in low gravity environment

    From February 21-22, 2019, a group of European researchers has met at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, Netherlands to make last preparations for their experiment “Multiscale Boiling”. The experiment was designed to measure boiling phenomena under microgravity and is to be carried to the International Space Station ISS on July 8, 2019 with the Falcon 9 rocket. After installation, the experiment will be operated for several months.
