TFI Activities

The aim of the TFI Profile Area is to help initiate new research among its members and to disseminate knowledge and technology arising from the past and ongoing projects. These aims are realised through three main activity blocks: Collaborative Research, Technology Transfer, and Knowledge Transfer.

Collaborative Research

The TFI management offers support in initiating innovative and interdisciplinary collaborative research projects. This takes the form of seed funds, for incubation of new ideas, or administrative support for coordination of collaborative proposals.

Technology and Knowledge Transfer

To promote technology transfer, TFI assists in evaluating research results according to their marketability or potential as a start-up company. The TFI staff is familiar with contractual details at the university and offers a one-face-to-the customer service in dealing with external partners.

Principal investigators are accompanied through the stages of preliminary talks, writing proposals and/or quotations, carrying out the research, and disseminating the results.

Knowledge Transfer is realised through print and online media, and through short courses dedicated to specific topics.
